Ran across Eric Lewis’ music today on the TED Site…this dude is a beast.
A little background: Lewis was born in Camden County, New Jersey, graduated from Manhattan School of Music in 1995, and won the Thelonius Monk International Piano Competition a year later at the age of 23. Since then he’s performed with artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Cassandra Wilson, Clark Terry, Ornette Coleman, and has been a member of the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. He’s now known for making crazy jazz arrangements of alternative rock songs. Check out his take on Evanescence’s “Going Under” below:
