Orchestrated Pain: The 2009 Fantasy Football Lineup

by AKB on August 30, 2009

The 2009 Tecmo Fantasy Bowl Draft took place yesterday and as promised, here’s my lineup.

Starting Lineup

Quarterback: Aaron Rodgers

Wide Receivers: Steve Smith, Wes Welker, & Anthony Gonzalez

Running Backs: Adrian Peterson and Derrick Ward

Tight End: Tony Gonzalez

W/R: Leveranues Coles

Defense/Special Teams: New York Giants

Defensive Player: Jon Beason

Bench

Matt Ryan, Marshawn Lynch, Michael Crabtree, Ricky Williams

My bench is kinda suspect, I’ll admit, but I’m confident Michael Crabtree will come to some kind of deal with the 49ers. I’ve already waived Ricky Williams for Tim Hightower and will probably be getting rid of Marshawn Lynch. Whatever it takes to get that Bill Winkenbach Trophy.

Orchestrated Pain will not loose this year!

  • Nice lineup! You're especially setup if you're in a PPR league. Might be hurting a little bit the first part of the year while Lynch is suspended and Crabtree does whatever he's doing. I'm a believer in Anthony Gonzalez... Whether Ward hits it big or gets caught up in a committee might make or break ya! Overall, good team though!

Thoughts on my team? It IS a PPR league.
    QB - Tony Romo
RB - Ryan Grant, Cedric Benson, Fred Jackson, Faulk, Norwood
WR - Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Bernard Berrian, Derrick Mason
    TE - Chris Cooley
    Def - Ravens
    K - Rackers

I'm weak at RB2, but I think I make up for it with my WR strength, especially with the PPR.
  • I had no idea you were a Fantasy Football player. We share the same concerns about Lynch, Crabtree, and Ward (I check the news wires every morning to see if Crabtree has signed yet...giving him until Week 3).

Your lineup is great. You got some good receivers, especially considering how shallow the field is this year. As for backs, I ended up with Faulk AND Norwood at different points in the season last year and got a couple of good surprises.

Best of luck to you this season!
  • Yeah, I went with a new strategy (for me at least) this year in going WR/WR in the first two rounds. I'm hoping with the point per reception thing, it'll make up for my lack of depth at RB. Although if Michael Turner gets hurt, my team gets great!

Good luck to you too man!
