For the past four years, a few friends and I have maintained a fantasy football league. We only play for bragging rights, no money exchanged. This year the stakes got higher. Enter the Bill Winkenbach Trophy:
The Bill Winkenbach Trophy (If you're wondering, he's the guy who invented Fantasy Football)
Our league commissioner just ordered it and I intend to be the first one to win it. I’ve always finished in the middle of the pack. With the trophy at stake, that can’t happen. This year, I’m approaching the draft differently. I can’t afford to go with the generic draft chart Yahoo gives out, and I certainly can’t draft off of hype (Ocho Cinco was a bust last year) or hometown favoritism (Vince Young wasted an early round pick *sigh*). When the draft comes, I’ll have my personal cheat sheet in hand. I’ve done research in three different draft guides and followed pre-season play pretty closely. Nothing gets held back this year.
I’m calling it. This is the year I win. I’m calling out every team in the Tecmo Fantasy Bowl league. Orchestrated Pain (more on the team name this weekend) is taking the Bill Winkenbach trophy home.
